A CASE STUDY

The Challenge

The company processes a substantial amount of wastepaper materials daily via a large printing production plant. The challenge for us was to organise a collection method for each different waste stream, whilst managing the collections. It was important that this did not affect the company’s production schedule as any delay could stop production and impact delivery deadlines. The company also required an accurate data reporting system.

Our Approach

We provided several open top and compactor 40-yard skips via hook lift collection vehicles for waste materials such as cardboard, plastic film and mixed paper.
In partnership with the company, we developed a conveyor fed loading system into our walking floor trailers to transport wastepaper to our facility at Deeside as well as provided curtain-sided trailers to transport palletised material into the same facility.

On arrival at our depot, segregated waste streams were baled for onward transportation to reprocessing mills. The materials were recycled and reprocessed back into the manufacturing industry. We provided a weekly report detailing all waste movements, including date of movements plus weight of waste.
